Beijing Language and Culture University

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding ordinary foreign passports and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants are generally aged 18-55; applicants under 18 need university consent and notarized guardianship documents. Starting with Fall 2026, all international undergraduate applicants must submit CSCA results.

Language

Requirements vary by program; Chinese-taught and joint programs specify their required HSK level. English-taught finance, international economics and trade, accounting, and special education require IELTS 5.5 with each component at least 5.5, TOEFL 80, or TOEIC 650, plus an interview. English-taught Sinology requires IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90.

Application path

Choose an undergraduate major and review its language, interview, tuition, and CSCA requirements. Prepare passport, high school qualification, language proof, CSCA result, and required supporting documents. Apply through BLCU's official online application system. Follow interview, admission, visa, payment, housing, and registration instructions.

Program notes

September 2026 undergraduate application deadline: June 30, 2026; selected March-entry majors had a January 12, 2026 deadline. Especially strong for Chinese language, translation, linguistics, international education, China studies, and multilingual joint programs.
